WORKS ELABORATION:
My work is done by wrapping the outside of the flattened bottle with thin wires, and at the same time simulating the outflow of water through the cut stainless steel, which is further assembled to simulate the outflow of water from the poured cup as a whole. Fiber art is a visual art that displays emotions through diversified media. I try to eliminate the use function of objects and only retain the visual beauty itself through the collision and rewriting of materials. Replace running water with a solid stainless steel plate. The purpose of the work is to "disable" ordinary things by wrapping them and trace them to the source by covering them in the current era of consumerism, so as to guide people to rationally "aesthetic" through artistic expression gradually bearing the unique responsibility of criticism and reflection. As Oscar Wilde said, "Seeing something is very different from seeing something. Men cannot see a thing until they see its beauty. Only then does it exist. People see the fog not because it is there, but because poets and painters have taught them about the mysterious loveliness of the landscape."
TUTOR COMMENT:
The clever use of the characteristics of fiber art works, the rigid cans wrapped by soft silver wire, in combination with hard materials stainless steel simulation of water, and repeated for the size of "reproduction" display, embodies the characteristics of different materials under the material collision contain the aesthetic form, deduced from the pot of water to flow. Because fiber art is a visual art that conveys beauty, it is an important artistic expression technique to display different materials with diverse characteristics. This installation is an interesting "collision" performance of different materials.
