WORKS ELABORATION:
This work addresses the existing problems in the development of Chinese embroidery, starting from the field of automotive interior design and taking the Dongfeng Fengshen AX7pro model as an example, to design and apply the art of Chinese embroidery to modern automotive interiors. Starting from the four aspects of Chinese embroidery art: colour, pattern, motif and stitching, the work uses modern design techniques to extract and innovate Chinese embroidery art, break through its traditional techniques, expand the application of Chinese embroidery art in modern design, provide new ideas for the future inheritance and development of Chinese embroidery art, attract more talents, and at the same time enhance the nationalisation and localisation of China's own brand car interiors and improve the competitiveness of the industry.
TUTOR COMMENT:
The student's work attempts a more innovative and difficult selection, attempting to integrate the culture of traditional Chinese embroidery techniques into the contemporary transformation of interior design for the manufacturing of the automotive industry. The aim is to expand the application area of Chinese embroidery techniques and also to explore new ways of nationalising and innovating for independent car brands, with some application value. In the practical stage of the design work the student dismantled and re-wrapped the actual car, involving the selection of materials and craft production, which was difficult work, but the final presentation was good, reflecting the cultural heritage of the art of Chinese embroidery, with reasonable colour matching and appropriate style innovation.
