WORKS ELABORATION:
The work "Honey Locust?" mainly uses the technique of plane weaving to weave the dyed cloth strip. The theme of the work is a search for truth. What separates the real from the false? It’s probably processing. In our life, we often use various adjectives to describe some things or people. But no matter how thoroughly we describe it, it is impossible to build up to others an image of a real person or thing. The creation of the core of the work is simulation. But in fact, the object of work creation is only the image of the saponin the heart of the creator. To know the real thing, we need to know not the reprocessed thing, but the thing itself.
TUTOR COMMENT:
Li Chengling's graduation work "Honey locket?" expresses the cognition of self-identity through shaping concrete honey locket form. Immersed in the artistic atmosphere of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and the perception of the value of life in the post-epidemic era, the author is also thinking about what he wants to tell through "handwork". Returning to the ontological language of fiber art, the creation techniques such as cotton dyeing, cloth weaving and molding are all based on the courses of the fiber Art studio. The exquisite skills contribute to the final presentation of this work. Saponaria sinensis is a vigorous tree species with wide distribution. It is chosen as the object of creation to express respect for ordinary life.
