WORKS ELABORATION:
In my paintings I have drawn bodies of various shapes, flowing like a liquid, dry and hard like a dead tree, embodying the various disorganized forms of self-knowledge in people's minds, extending, dissolving and interweaving these bodies, squeeze each other, and mutual integration, forming a squeeze and flow, soft and powerful picture. It expresses the exploration of one's self-identity under the influence of the space of the internal (lack of self-cognition) and external (severe social homogeneity) parts.
TUTOR COMMENT:
Li Yanjia's works transform the uncertainty of self-cognition into various life forms like flowing water. The elements in the picture are like different sounds of water, some are deep, some are flexible, and some are quite penetrating, venting the vivid feelings of life. Perhaps her works can lead to a kind of understanding: life is always flowing water in general, weak and firm. Li Yanjia's works reflect the commonness of the intersection between individuals and the times, opening up the sense organs contained in human nature and resonating with the times. No doubt, the unmistakable attitude in her work is just a demonstration of a young artist's firm and persistent spirit of exploration.
